Becoming
Members
Membership of FAPRA shall be open to all National
Associations of Public Relations Practitioners in African Countries
and to any individual who is a resident Public Relation practitioner
in Africa who:
(a)
is an African,
(b) is of good character,
(c) is a registered member of a National Association of Public
Relations Practitioners
(d) has taught or practised Public Relations for at least five
(5) years.
Membership
of FAPRA by individuals shall be of four (4) nos categories as
hereunder stated:
(a)
Associate Member
(b) Standing Member
(c) Fellow Member
(d) Fellow Emeritus
Membership Categories
Associate
membership shall be opened to any person in addition to having
met the requirements for individual membership listed in Article
6 (1) a to d above.
Standing
Membership shall be open to any person who in addition to
having met the requirements for individual membership listed in
Article 6. (1) a to c above, and has been teaching or practising
Public Relations for a minimum period of ten (10) years.
The
title of “Fellow” may be conferred by the council
on persons who, in addition to having met the requirements of
Article 6 (1) a to c and has been admitted into the category of
Standing Member, have in the opinion of the Council, distinguished
themselves in the teaching or practice of Public relations.
The Council may also confer “Hon. Fellow” on distinguished
Africans who have supported or promoted Public relations practice
in any African country.
The
title of “Fellow Emeritus” may be conferred by the
Council on Fellows who have been teaching or practicing Public
Relations for at least fifteen years and who, in the Council’s
opinion, have made an outstanding contribution to the development
of the teaching or practice of Public Relations in Africa.
